Don't Step On the Crack, or...

We were out for a walk the other day. Coulter and I. We heard these loud noises from the house and decided we would take our own 4 feet to check it out. No stroller needed because the noise was just a few houses away. Out we went. We really haven't been walking outside EVER since Mr. C learned in the middle of winter how to move about on his long limbs. Needless to say, it was a new experience. Mr. C. is very cautious of stairs and dips. He backs up on his tummy way.before.needed to get down (even if down is 3 inches) It's cute. He learned it all on his own. Good boy! Like I said he's cautious.
Well we were just going out the driveway and he saw a crack, to his tummy he went. Not a crack that had a dip or any sorts or by all means a change in elevation, just a normal crack in the cement. After his "back-up" was successful it was a matter of milli-seconds and he was to his feet again. But 2 feet later another crack. And what did Coulter do? Straight to his tummy to "back-up". (Ok, so I wish I had my camera so I could have recorded this-but no, of course not- We were getting closer to the noise though.) Well, by crack #3, I was cracking up. Too funny. Soooo cute. He quickly learned with a little help that he could just walk over these cracks. So walking, we got closer and closer to this maker of the noise. The noise that fascinated Coulter intently! A Tractor. Digging. Moving Branches. Best of all...making noise. This was my favorite walk of the year for sure!

funny!! Caleb used to "back up" for elevation changes, or not so much, but we never encountered a crack when he was on this kick. funny!!
