Small-town Living
We got our share of walking in today. How could you not when the barometer hit 51 and sunny right here in Luverne, MN for the first time in 2008. Really it was quite wonderful.
I woke up this morning thinking about how dirty my car is. There is this place in town that does a "mini detail" for 20 bucks. That includes interior and exterior cleaning of the car. It's great. I called this morning and made an appt for 1:30. The routine goes like this(I say routine because we have done this before)...pack child & stroller, drop car off. Load child in stroller-go walking, return when car is done. ( Now I didn't take the Chariot--I know, tear, tear, I just didn't know if it would fit in the truck well) . Well being that is was a super nice day it was going to take a little longer to "mini detail" my Mazda. We walked to the grocery store then home. Played a little. And about 20 mins later were back in the stroller heading downtown Luverne to pick-up the sparking white mazda that glowed in the sun from blocks away. Packed up child, re-loaded stroller and headed home just in time for the afternoon nap.
Really, I like small town living. I love the closeness of the grocery store-most of the time we drive though, the library, and Clyde's-where my car got spiffy today. What's not to like?

...and even the Jetta has gotten that special attention on a trip over to Clydes! The 51 degree temp was AWESOME. T cooley and i took a walk for 1.5 hours..no strollers, just a cute chocolate lab puppy.
So fun. I miss the walks in the cities...ya know...the ones around the lakes. Did you guys hit that up, Steph? Living so close I hope you did...for my sake.
Small towns are great for that stuff and you've got a nice small town (growing up, my parents took us to the indoor pool there about once a week during the winter months!). Nearly all of my extended family lives south of you- Ellsworth- but that's a bit *too* small. :)
I can just see you doing all that. I wish I was there to pack and unpack with you. When we lived in Hastings we did that same routine each time we took the car in for an oil change at Walmart. It's great when it's nice out.
p.s. The good ol' lakes. I hope you went there too, Steph, for my sake also.
p.p.s Love the new weekly preg pictures on your sidebar.
cute prego pix!
no, no lakes walk... just around the neighborhood. We actaully stumbled across a path..that has been repaved or so we think..it runs right along a railroad...the trail goes all the way in to mpls...by cedar lake. more north of lake of the isles. it was very puddleeey.
